Helmi Fita, The Technical Manager

Mohamed Fita Helmi is a full time theatre practitioner. He has worked with various theatre companies both internationally and in Singapore such as KillYourTelevision(KYTV), Wild Rice, The Necessary Stage, TheatreWorks (S) Ltd, Action Theatre, Teater Kami, Teater Ekamatra and Singapore Dance Theatre. With almost 16 years of theatre experience under his belt, Helmi has worked as a performer, production manager, stage manager, lighting designer, and technical manager.

Helmi was given the Honorable mention for special achievement in Lighting during the 3rd DBS Life Theatre Awards 2003.

His past works as a lighting designer includes ‘Flowers and Beyond ‘07’ by Van Body Theatre (Taiwan), Gentarasa 2007 as part of the Singapore Arts Festival ’07, ‘The Day I Met The Prince’ for the Shanghai for Asia Contemporary Theatre Festival, The 7th Seoul Fringe Festival in August 2004 and 2005 he traveled with The Necessary Stage to Romania for the Sibiu International Theatre Festival as technical manager.

Helmi is also a prolific performer, collaborator and a drama trainer. His acting credits include Design For Death in Esplanade 2003 and Korea 2004(Seoul Fringe Festival), Necessary Stage Under The Last Dust, Galileo… i felt the earth move, Pillars, Superfriends, Sex Violence Blood Gore, Rent by SRT, Teater Ekamatra Kampung 2000, Bulan Madu Singapore/Malaysia, Causeway part of The Singapore Arts Festival 2002 and Main2. He did a monologue performance titled Blissed in 2004, a pento musical Oi Sleeping Beauty produced by wild rice in 2005 and “MACHINE” as part of the ‘Full Frontal’ programme for the Singapore Arts Festival 2007. In February 2006, he was invited by PARC, Pacific Basin Arts Communication Japan Centre as an actor to perform with 12 other Asians actors in a play entitled To Soothe The Seven Spirits in Tokyo and Kyoto.


Serena Pang, The AEP Executive

Serena Pang graduated from LaSalle-SIA Collage of the Arts with a Diploma in Drama in 2007. She was a full-time freelance theatre practitioner in Singapore leaving for further studies in Australia. Her professional involvement primarily revolves around stage/production management and performance-making. Credits include Equus by Asia-In-Theatre Research Centre and Under the Last Dust by The Necessary Stage, both nominated for Best Ensemble at STRAITS TIMES LIFE! Theatre Awards 2000. She was last seen in Vi(Dés): Clutching My Blade of Grass, a self-devised commentary on urban-living, transition and politics of age. Serena recently graduated from Monash University, Centre for Drama & Theatre Studies with a Bachelor of Performing Arts.

Serena is very interested in multi-disciplinary devised work involving video technology and would like to explore creating theatre in very small spaces. To those who have asking, she is back in lovely Singapore for good.


Junainah Yusoff, The Resident Designer

Junainah Yusoff has been in the theatre scene for the last 20years. She was first talent spotted by Atin Amat (Teater Kami) in 1987 during the “Pesta Teater Remaja” hosted by Kemuning. Since then, she never stopped being involved in the growth of the local theatre scene as a performer, director and the resident set designer of Teater Kami.

As a performer, her acting credits include “Bos”, “Pentas Opera”, “Munsyi”, “Nadra”, “Indra Bangsawan”, “Kosovo”, “Anak Melayu”, “Lantai T. Pinkie”, “… Dan Tiga Dara Terbang Ke Bulan” for the Cairo International Festival of Experimental Theatre 1997) and “Laksamana Tak Punya Anu” an adaptation of the late Kuo Pao Kun’s “Descendant of the Eunuach Admiral” for the Kuo Pao Kun Festival.

Junainah also was the set designer for the productions in Teater Kami when she was Full Time in the company. And her directing debut was a children’s play “Batu Sumpahan”.

Besides having her presense felt in the Theatre, Junainah has acted for Suria in Malay Dramas such as “ Teater Komidi”, “Kerja Overtime”, “Dimensi” and the upcoming Tv Drama “Block 13”.

Currently, Junainah is a full time staff of a 5-star hotel for the last 7 years. But this does not perturb her to be involved in the hotel’s Entertaiment Events being the performer and director of the hotel’s Annual Dinner & Dance Celebrations.
